چکیده

This work aimed to produce bionanocomposites of chitosan incorporated with zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) synthesized using food industry by-products and characterize them. Such are highlighted due their low cost, antimicrobial activity, accessibility, sustainability synthesis. Four different levels ZnO NPs (0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0% w/w chitosan) were tested, the characterized in terms hydrophobicity, mechanical, optical, barrier properties. Overall, incorporation changed composites from brittle ductile, enhanced elongation at break reduced Young Modulus tensile strength. Thus, acted as plasticizer, turning films more flexible, presence organic compounds on NPs. also favored permeability oxygen water vapor, but good properties maintained. Optical did not change statistically incorporation. characterization presented this paper may contribute support a decision choice material’s final application.

Structural and Morphological Characterization of ZnO thin Films Synthesized by SILAR

Zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films were deposited on glass substrates from ammonium zincate complex as cationic precursor following SILAR (Successive ion layer adsorption and reaction) technique. Characterization techniques of XRD, HRSEM, TEM, EDX and FTIR were utilized for detailed microstructural studies of the coated films. A comparison of physical properties of the films was made from those deposi...

Transdermal Delivery of Insulin by Biodegradable Chitosan Nanoparticles: Exvivo and In vivo Studies

Insulin-loaded biodegradable chitosan nanoparticle was prepared by the polyelec-trolyte complex formation method. The prepared nanoparticles were in the size of 110 nm and had high entrapment (91.0%) capacity. The transdermal nanoinsulin was characterized by in vivo hypoglycemic effects. Plasma glucose was decreased to the range of 80.34 to 96.74 mg/dl, and insulin levels were in...

Characterization of ZnO Thin Films

ZnO is a strategic material for various photonic applications. We present our results on characterization of thin films of ZnO grown by sol-gel spin and RF sputtering methods. The characterization techniques involved ellipsometry, scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive analysis, X-ray diffraction and scanning tunneling microscopy. Microstructural characterization of the films using...
